Hi Slammy, I heard sbout your site through the ihatemen site. For some reason I seem to like your site more. Men seem to have become second class citizens over the past 30 years. Ive found that contrary to what women may think(mainly the angry and/or feminist ones), men do not have the 'power'.Men have responsibilities and obligations, women have the 'rights'. Men get to vote with the mandatory draft(if needed), women get to vote with the OPTION to join or not to join. men make up 85% of the homeless. Men do not have choices between:work full time, work part-time while raising kids, raising kids full time etc., the way women do(women have more options than men). During divorce(which 70%of women initiate), dad is put out of his home and ordered to pay child support for a child he will hardly see(especially if mom is bitter and telling lies about him). 10% of government funding goes toward women's health, while only 5% goes toward men's health. Male bashing is called funny, Female bashing is called sexist. Just pay attention to the commercials on TV and see if you catch a trend. But its not limited to commercials though. Its also in just about almost everything on television. If there has been a study showing results in favour of men and/or contrary to popular belief , chances are pretty high the highly feminised news media isnt going to tell us about it. They would tell us things like 'Men earn more than women', but they wont tell us WHY. They wont tell us that men have different work habits and men work the more hazardous jobs. Men dont work for fullfillment, they work to get paid more to take care of their families, to get the attention of beautiful women, to pay for high maintainance women who will probably leave them if they lose their job. In my opinion this isnt power. These men are walking wallets. Paying for love. If they dont have money, they dont get love. Women often say that men treat them like sex objects which is true and there is a reason for that(which I will get into if you want to know), but women treat men like success objects(he has to have a good job, or at least have 'potential')-which there is also a reason for that and I will get into if you want to know. There is the Office of Research on Women's Health but no Office of Research on Men's Health. There are 34 neglected areas of Men's Health. The Department of Labour has only a Women's Bureau, no Men's Bureau. The Directory of Financial Aids for Women describes 'more than 1700 funding programs...set aside specifically for women'. This is BILLIONS of dollars in female-only financial aid-paid for by tax-payers. There is no equivalent directory for men. Men are the minority in colleges(45%), boys are doing worst in almost all subjects in school except math and science, dropping out more, commiting suicide more,suffering learning disabilities at much higher rates. But the government isnt addressing the problem. You probably know that the suicide rate is higher for men than women. Men also die 7 years earlier than women on average. In the 1920's that number was just one year earlier than women. Men are abused more, they just report it less for fear of being laughed at and also fearing they wont be taken seriously(which they are probably right). But this is a very serious problem. One which is ignored in large part by the government and the media. Part of the problem is, men are raised being taught not to hit women, and/or just take it like a man. I think we need to teach women and girls not to hit men also. I can go on and on about these things but maybe you get my point. Who really has the power? In my opinion, both sexes have different kinds of power, but in terms of so called 'equality', men seem to have less than equality. Women have more rights, but very little responsibility or obligations. So in general, it makes us wonder, why are women so angry when everything seems to be in their favour? I dont address men's issues while ignoring men's, but right now, in my opinion, in certain things, men need more help than women do. In terms of relationships, it would be good to address the differences between men and women as a basis for solving problems and such. I appreciate your site being a vehicle for men to vent their frustraions, but in the end, is it really helping men and women understand each other and understand why we are the way we are, thus lessening the anger between us? You are right to a point, men work because its required women work to supplement or to achieve their own fulfillment. Of course you ignore women who earn more or have a more successful career then their male while he is trying to find himself. But even in under this situation the woman has the social acceptance of quitting to be a mom. Only under special circumstances would it not be absurd for a man to decide to quit his job to be a father. Your argument also leaves out working single moms who have no choice but to do both. But even then because of custody laws this problem is made worse on the woman, usually at her insistence. How much fairer it would be if it the time with a child was 50/50 both splitting the costs. Its not always because the male doesnﾒt want to do more with his child, he canﾒt. And no guy trusts his ex-whatever to spend the money he gives her solely on his child. No guy is going to voluntarily give his ex wife a thousand dollars to spend on his child and believe she isnﾒt going to use a chunk of it for herself. To your points of the lopsided attention females receive to men you are right. There are more programs, organizations and sympathy for women compared to men. One reason is because not very many programs existed for men before. When women started coming out they went for as much as they could get. With male bashing humor being accepted it is along the same lines why it is politically correct to make fun of white people but white people canﾒt do it to minorities. Men are still the dominators and have the real power by and large. True a woman has options and the leniency of the court but men still have the power to cut the purse string. Those in charge will always be targets for everyone else. As far as the homeless deal goes I itﾒs easier for an outplaced woman to find a male to take care of her then an outplaced male to find a woman. I and several of my friends have taken in chicks that were too messed mentally and/or financially to take care of themselves. Seldom do we let our male friends with the same problems hang around as long. Thatﾒs the advantage of being the fairer sex I suppose, its easier finding someone you can attract into taking care of you. All in all, I think people are starting to wake up the lopsided justice between the sexes. Some courts are starting to change the way they handle divorce. Also to me the feminist movement is running out of steam and becoming desperate to find battles. Most women I know feel they are treated fair and would much rather have some lighthearted sexual harassment then be found too repulsive to flirt with. I think most pro women organizations are loosing focus on the real minds of women and what they want. Throughout history women have had little motivation to try and run things. The common theme is always the male characer bumbling and the female character fixing his bumblings. In my opinion this is no way indicative of real life. Another example is popular cultures and womens obsession with homosexuality. Will and Grace, Quer Eye for the Straight Guy, The core audience for these progams are women. (and they will try to make you watch them too... dont, keep your balls.) Most homosexual men have feminine characteristics. Women love them. How many girls do you meet that have gay friends. They remark that the hottest guys are gay. They like the way they dress, look and how sensitive and in touch with their feelings they are. Its really no wonder why a real man has such a hard time these days. Dont get me wrong i dont mean to be hating on gays, but it sickens me that they get more play from women then i do. I would like to tell you a little about my experiences with women and what i have learned. Early in my life I was very introverted. Afriad to talk to women for fear of rejection, or even talk to anyone for that matter. I was a loner in school and i had few friends. As i got older I learned to be more social. I had one girlfriend in highschool. she was the only one i ever loved to date. She was a complete bitch from hell. She scemed, lied and cheated on me. Then blamed me for all of her actions. For the most part I put up with it, I loved her and i didnt know any better. The relationship lasted 6 months (an eternity by highschool standards). After that it took several years to get over the hurt and pain of it. I messed around with a few girls but it wasnt until i was in my 20's that i actually began dating again. First just internet dating, I was shy and it seemed more comptfortable at the time, then asking girls out in the real world. I had trouble keeping a sustained relationship going. I had a lot of first dates but not much more, I never really figured out why. i would get excited and begin really liking a girl only to be dissapointed when she turned out to be a bitch. Last November i met a girl at a local auto repair shop. Our cars broke down at the same time and we talked for hours while they where being fixed. We hit it off right away and dated for about several months. I bought her roses, said sweet things to her etc etc.and really treated her right, I even had an artist friend of mine draw a picture of her. Valentines Day(also my birthday) came around and I sent her a singing valentine for 40 dollars. She was supposed to meet me for lunch at a local restaurant where I and some friends from work where waiting. She never showed up and i was humiliated in front of my friends. After getting her a gift on my birthday she ditched me. She was too chicken shit to tell me she didnt like me. Of course the girls at work who are supposedly my friends later told me it was probubly my fault and that they would have done the same thing in her situation. To make a long story short that was the final learning experience for me. After that something snapped inside my head. I no longer wanted to look for a relationship. I no longer wanted to do anything nice for a woman again. I no longer put women on pedistols. I no longer expected anything from women other then for them to be a lying cheating cunt. I didnt event want to fuck. after all I could just jerk off. And if i was going to persue anything with a woman again it would be solely for sex nothing more. I made the decision that i would never let a woman disrespect me again and i havent. I am a cocky asshole with women for the most part. After that i have noticed something profound. My frustration and anger towards women has decreased due to my unconditional acceptance of what they truly are. By being an asshole to them I am now finding that women are actually more interested in me. Im talking to girls all the time now, getting laid more, and having longer lasting relationships with them. Lets face it how many times do nice guys complaining about girls being with assholes.. i had an opifany.. thats what women want. there are simple things that will help us all to better deal with women.... Accept them for what they are.... whores, bitches, sluts, cunts. Treat them like what you know they are. Be an asshole. This is why 80% of divorces are initiated by women. This is why I prefer European women, especially Brits. They don't seem to have this man hating obsession! Like you, I love women, certain types of women that is! I work in an office full of jadded divorcee women in the 40-55 age range. These battle-axes are absent alot, gossip, pick fights, bull-shit constantly, leave early often, don't pull their weight,and make the workplace miserable for men like me who want to pursue their careers and make money in the marketplace. But they deserve a job and don't YOU forget it. Yet many emasculated and feminized male managers do nothing about this. In fact, when men complain, it often backfires on them (I know perosnally). The show's male host, and the women, mocked the men and their many character flaws. Finally, there was the Lifetime and Oxygen channels. Disgusted, I turned it off and headed back to bed. The message I received was men are evil! I often write editorial letters in a local underground newspaper. The KC Star won't print my divergent views. I get angry rebutals from all types. Cops, jarheads, good old boys, soccer moms, and feministas respond. I recently wrote a letter about legalized prostitution. Last summer the Kansas CIty police arrested 100 escorts and their male customers. They printed the men's names in the paper. Yet in one of the very neighborhoods where they arrested the majority of the men and the girls there were 2 drug related murders that very night! So the War on drugs and prostitution really works? 99 of the misdemeanor charges were dropped. So what's the point? As a homeowner and citizen I sleep well at night now. Anyways, I visit a brothel in Columbia, MO., about once a month (the cops leave it alone. Go figure.). My letter said that men pay for sex. One way isillegal. It's called prostitution. The other is legal. It's called marriage. I also stated that sometimes a guy wants to get laid. But he doesn't want to deal with games, rejection, or drop major dime on a losing proposition. This is the first time I have written to a site to say something nice, usually its something along the lines of "if I ever find your location you bastards I'll kill you!" Cool site, Im glad I stumbled upon it - at last somewhere to speak your mind about women. I have a little something to say about it, I have been met with the statement "it's the same - but different" by every single one of my girlfriends at some point in relationships and I have struggled to understand and find out what this means. However, it recently became clear when Britney spears 'snogged' madonna and started using (ahem) 'raunchy' dancing in her shows. It appears to me that she is doing the good old female trick of trying to be two completely different things at the same time, using sex to promote her virginity thus being the same but different. I would also like to say that all of this so called 'liberation' has all been so that women get to do exactly what they want to, behave exactly how they want to (behaving in the same way that got Men branded as violent drunken deadbeat rapists) but still be treated in the same chivalrous ways that Men treated Women in the olden days. It also annoys me that Women can claim rape against someone they want to hurt (and destroy) and get away with it scott free when the guy is found not guilty or if the case is thrown out of court, and they way that if a Woman changes her mind after having sex (which they often do) some poor guy gets his whole life ruined. I did a search a google and all the links support the opposite http://christianparty.net/suicide.htm That little camp openness goes with the current understanding of how male/female attraction works. You seduce a man by what he sees and a woman by why she hears. Men are turned on by visual stimuli and women by what affects their emotions. But even though women complain about how shallow men are for being this way it doesn't stop you girls from buying beauty magazines, makeup and critiquing one another's appearance. While men appreciate beauty women get mean when girls fail to have it. How many times have you and your girlfriends cut down a girl for how bad she looked? Men seldom do this with either men or women. I do know that this statement isn't true because statistically women are more likely to do this. I say that because women are more likely to feel hurt by men obsessed with the perfect woman images. So more young women will go to extremes to make their image look the most appealing. Todays media is probably the most responsible for this because they portray women in a way where they must look like a celebrity to get attention and then they become so bad (anorexia, bulimia) that they kill themselves from the depression, anxiety, and the need to be perfect. The entertainment industry should be teaching young people about respecting themselves and avoid idolizing these teeny bopper sensations such as pop icons and rap artists that influence young girls to be a sex goddess or boys to be macho. I also had an experience with young men at a campground for leaders. We went into deep discussion on gender differences. We were told to come up with what we thought the opposite sex should be or already are. We women finished our list and described plenty of positive and negative attributes that men possessed. We read off our list and a few of the guys chuckled and laughed because we wrote pigheaded, walking dicks, and some were handsome, sweet, caring, honest, intelligent, wants to live life at the fullest. BUT, when the men took their turn, they wrote mainly on what women should be and it broke all of our hearts to know what they thought of us. It was dreadful. They wrote things like busty, thin, pamela anderson, shaved, tiny waste, beautiful face, sexy + provocative, and to top it off- somewhat intelligent. All the women in the room were crying. After that experience, since it was a one night only discussion, the men and women made up. We never held that again, because at camp we were one. All conversation was confidential. Plus this type of retreat can be good for the sexes, they learn how to respect each other. The retreat took place about 4 years ago. Today I am happily engaged to a wonderful man who would never hurt me. We live in a little studio and attend college together. We have the same interests and wouldn't dream of ruining what we have.So men and women have their differences and similarities. Its the chances that we take to find the perfect guy or girl that suits our expectations. I expect my guy to respect me and cuddle with me, he expects the same. Everything is shared equally.
